A Polish for Fiberglass Boats
About 3 years ago, I "remodeled" a 17 ft fiberglass bass boat that was badly oxidized from sitting out in the weather. I used a product called Poli-Glo..It turned out great, well at least for a couple of months. I bought the kit ($79) and followed directions to a T....After 2 months, it started the finish started looking cloudy and after a year it began "flaking" off. I stripped it off and tried doing it again...Same results
On this boat I just finished, I tried something different. It's a product that has been around for quite a while, but I didn't know about it. It's called Liquid Glass, a little pricy at $25 a pint, but I am well pleased with it so far. I waited before I posted anything because I wanted to see how good it would work. It has been 4 months and the finish still shines like glass. I keep my boat under the carport, but it still gets some of the elements from the weather. After 8-10 trips to the lake and 4 months later, I washed my boat this morning and after it all dried, the finish still looks like glass...No cloudiness, no fading or oxidation showing at all...I think this stuff is the real deal!!!:ThumbsUp
