To windy to fish, so played around at making some beds. Which way do you think I should point the limbs on these beds, up, down or a combination of the two? Probably will depend on how deep the water is where I place them. Trimmed trees around the yard and along the drive, so made some more wooden beds too.

I like both! Don't think you will go wrong either way!
Both should work...the mix of both natural and PVC is a winner !

I see alot of finished cover in the background...Man, you guys have been busy and the Fish are gonna love it!
Congrats on having a permanent place to fish throughout your lives. Even if you don't fish the cover...it will benefit the fishery and make it better overall!
I can see using the PVC going DOWN, in Shallow areas, so it is not "Seen" with the tentacles floating on the surface if there is a drawdown or low water condition!
I've been taking full advantage of all the telephone construction in my area for material to build these beds. We've put out over 50 this year in clusters of 2 to 6 beds, depending on size. Some of the bigger beds are 14' to 16' across and a challenge to get to the lake, but most average 8' or 9'. I 've got a row of nine beds along a creek channel just off of a good spawning bank that should be a real hotspot about late March thru early June. Try to take a boat load everytime I go out. I've about run out of places close to home, so plan to hit the other end of the lake with some beds this Winter.
