Reelfoot Camping (past Mid-November)

I'll be down that way sometime next month (November), but wanting to make a couple stops along the way (which will delay my arrival date to roughly mid-month). Seems the State run Campgrounds close mid-November, other than Airpark which would most likely be filled since it's so small (14 according to the TN website), and not even sure they have large enough sites for me (I'd probably looked, just can't recall at the moment).

Are there any sites on the Lake (other than those mentioned above) close enough for me to wheel (walking distance) my Kayak to the water? I'm unable to locate any other Campgrounds on the internet. I hate to have to "pass" Reelfoot as I was looking forward to fishing it, but seems like my options are limited. Any suggestions?

They'll close the 3rd Sunday, which is Nov. 18. I'd be surprised if the Airpark campground was full, though and if I remember right, I think there's room for your rig. Dang, I was just up there two days ago and could've run by to check! You might also check with Bo's Landing. They're on the south end of the lake right on the water.

Thanks for the info Vonna! I just assumed Airpark would be at capacity, maybe I'll get lucky. Bo's will be another option I wasn't aware of, and will check it out as well.

If I am not mistaken, I've only looked there once, Airpark had water at most sites but not power. Generator is required. I could be wrong on this so hopefully someone that knows will answer. The state site says all have power but I never saw any in Airpark. I stay at the state RV campground when there.

Any time that I have been to the Airpark that time of year there were open sites. What was the length of your rig again? I have a friend that lives by it. I will call him and get all of the information that you need. Frank 812-821-3003. I will be down there Nov 7-12

Thanks Frank, I'm within a couple feet of 60' (Bus and Trailer). No problem backing in (don't require pull-thru) so long as there's room to cut the wheels to get 'er in there.

OK I stand corrected on my post concerning power. After doing a little googling I see they have 14 sites with 30 amp service. I must have only been looking where the primative sites are with water only. I hope to get up there this winter when we have some nice weather like we had New Years eve when it was 75 degrees.

Grizzly Jig is located just across the river in Carruthersville Mo. The do a lot of fishing at Reelfoot. That needs to be on your must visit list while you are there.
