Normandy 9-29-12
Ok I have read about everyone catching fish around here. Bag Sandy, Wattsbar, Reelfoot. So I guees I am doing something wrong. Used jigs, white curlytail with pink head, red head chartrues, nothing on them. Got two keepers and a 1 spot and 1 largemouth bass with minnows caught in 8-17 feet deep on slip bobbers. Fished for 8 hours. bite was slow. Was warm, cloudy, foggy, and no wind when we got there. An hour later wind was cool and coming out of the north still cloudy and foggy. two hours later it started clearing. Got sunny and warm by the afternoon. Winds started coming from the west. Well the weather is my excuse anyway. :)
Good Fishing.

What was water temp. Do you have sonar? Did you try trolling crankbaits or Jigs? Take a look at what others are doing on other lakes and it might help. I know the guys on the Bar are trolling deep crankbaits. Water temps are still close to 80.

A couple of the creek arms have suberged timber/tall stumps, find those and you usually can find crappie nearby.

Thanks Tenncrappie and Bfish. Water temp was 74 And have 2 fish finders in the boat one one trolling motor and one in the back. We wind drifted the jigs down the middle of boyd branch. Lots of fish in the middle but didt hardly see anything in 20 feet or less. Made 2 pass's with one spot for the effort. Went to carroll creek and fish some laydowns there and caught a few. Fished standing timber in carrol creek with jigs and minnows and got nothing. Lots of fish all around in there. Tried depths from 4 to 20 feet with no luck. Went back to the upper end of boyd branch and got some hits but only 1 keeper. They were really biting light. Would hit the jig and nothing there. Caught them on minnows under slip floats. May have to get some small crakbaits and try them. Never been much of a crank bait fisherman but if that is what it takes. Thanks again for the advice guys I really do appreciate it.
Good fishing.
