Hi, I am going to incease the legth of my tailer tongue, I need to get retangular steel tubing 2" x 3" x 12'. Do anyone know where can I get it locally? I live in Overland Park. Thanks.

I do not know where to buy metal in OP but if you want to drive about 25 miles you can buy what you need at Jacksons Welding in Ottawa. It is right off of I-35 as you get to Ottawa. They carry a lot of metal from sheet metal to square or rectangular tubing. They have always been reasonable on their prices and they are great people to do business with.Quote:

Have you checked Metal by the Foot in Olathe? They would probably have it.
Metal by the Foot in Olathe is right next to Simmons Gun Repair in the 700 block of Rogers Road. Just down from where the old Olathe Hospital used to be.

Shawnee Metal on Merriam Drive just north of SM Parkway about 1/4 mile will have what you need.

by the way do anyone knows what is the thickness i should use for the railer?
Metal cut to length call me , the thickness they have is 14 gauge, I think that is not strong enough to be the tounge of the trailer......
How much tongue weight and what is the length of the tongue? Square or rectangular tubing is extremely strong depending upon the use. There is a whole lot more that goes into figuring the weight carrying capacity of a particular piece of iron than the thickness of the iron.Quote:
