Those big long "skirts" on some of the over-the-road trailers, what do they do??
What i think Major it is for the gas mileage and to deflect objects from hurting the back tires.But what do i know,sounds good don't it?
Hides the private parts.
He dont know he is just a truck driver, now if you asked him a quesiton about food you would already have your answer
Mainly for gas mileage. it keeps the air from gettin under the trailer where there is a lot of stuff underneath to cause a turbulance. It helps the trailer flow through clean air. Less Drag. Just like the fender skirts and air dams on a Nascar.

They do help fuel economy but like Big H said they stay tore up so it appears to me any savings would be offset bymaintaince expense.
I thought that's how you told boy trailers from girl trailers since they too big to turn over and look.
