which lake?
ok so i made a earlier post about going to cave run in oct. but now i am thinking about other places to go and i am not sure which would be my best bet. looking at the weekend of oct 5-7th and thinking of either 1)Cave Run 2)Greeen River 3)Lake Cumberland, i ask you which would be the best bet?

I like Cave Run I don't know if I responded to you earlier post. I will also be there that weekend and be fishing usually do well that time been picking up lately and the weather is going to cool down but I also hear Green rivr and Cumberland are nice but I don't fish them very often I live closer to Cave Run. Thats my 2 cents.

If ur wanting numbers Green is good with a few good fish, but Cumberland has got some big slabs i fu can find them.

We have Crappie.com Shindig at big bear resort KY Lake those dates. it will be held at Wiskers Campsite......Lots of fun!

I like Green since this is the lake I usually fish. If the weather cooperates, any of the three would be beautiful to be on fishing during that time frame. Good Luck.

Grizzly2k1, i would love to go back down to ky lake but that is a long haul for me. i am just across the river from cincinnati, i think we have decided on cave run since it is the closest, now we just have to decide which campground to stay at. does anyone know where you can buy minnows around cave run? anyone have personnal experience with either Zilpo campground or Twin Knobs?

I stay at Twin Knobs all the time and I only live 40 minutes away so that should tell ya how much we like it. A loop is nice J loop is on the water but first come first serve and J loop goes fast. Minnows are no problem two marinas on the water that sell bait and a couple places off the water there is one place up on the hill I think it's called the Bull it's got a bid black bull out front DO NOT BUY BAIT THERE! any of the others is fine. Any questions about the campgrounds or area PM me and I will be there that weekend so we'll hook up and I'll show ya some good areas the weather is cooling down and the crappie are starting to pick up really nice right now.
