2 Question about fuel and oil

1. Is the ethanol treatment (Stabil, etc) also a fuel stabilizer or do you need both, one for ethanol and one for long term stabalization.

2. Could you premix the gas treatment with the oil and add this to your tank when you fill up. It is always a hassle at the pump trying to measure the oil and then the additive so I wondered if you could not just add the proper amount to the oil ahead of time. (Mine is an older engine that requires the manual addition of oil to the gas

I'm not sure about Stabil bit I do know Sea Foam is both. As for premixing, it won't hurt a thing that I can think of.

Don't know. But i just fill up with 5 gallons gas and add a jug of Quicksilver premium synthetic and a can of Seafoam. Oil mix ends up about 40:1 but my motor is old as well and I am trying to get every thing I can out of her. Looking at motors now though. Course my motor is only a 25hp so them 5 gallons go a Lllloooonnnnggg way

yes, the Stabil marine version is a fuel stabilzer as well. It should not hurt anything to mix the stabil or seafoam with the oil, then add the gas on the way to the lake, it should get mixed up good on the road to the lake. You cannot "overtreat" the gas with stabil, per the directions but I doubt that a double dose of it would do 2x the good.
