A few wiring questions, need help CanePole & Barnacle Bill
(1) I presently have a G3 Eagle 175 PF. The trolling motor wires are #8 and factory wired. I have always used #6 regardless of the TM type. After tearing half the boat apart I have found it impossibe to replace the #8 wires. How much difference will it make in battery run down if I continue using the #8 wiring vs #6. It is about a 20' run. I have a new I-Pilot 12v 55lb TM.
(2) The TM wires are inside a spiral wrap and running in the same channel as my DF transducer cable going to the transom. This is the ONLY way to get a transducer on the transom..Trust me, the only way. I can see the dreaded interference coming.
(3) It is just about as hard getting the bow DF power cable to the cranking battery at the back. I have a bow light and a T & T switch up front. The bow unit is 2D only. Can I bridge on to either without causing problems.
Why don't the boat manufacturers place a simple extra conduit for accessories? It could be easily done during the building process.
