Adding structure to lakes and rivers.

Planning on adding structure or fish cover to my home lake and river. What are the rules or laws?can you cut trees or brush from the bank and put in water? A FRIEND SAID I SHOULD CHECK BEFORE DUMPING IN LAKE. Who do you check with? who do you ask.Have always just took down to the local lake and dumped in the water.See threads on Crappie.com folks adding cover who do you ask do you need a permit? Do you ask the Corp/Game and Fish? Who?

Depends on ownership. If it is a AGFC or COE you would need to contact the agency that controls it. Some private or water resavior lakes don't allow.

X2. We got a permit from the COE. we just had to call and give the "general area" where we were droping. they sent a temporary thru e-mail and we got the hard copy a week later. Now, have we ever been asked? Not one time and we have passed the COE many times.
