I am tinkering with the idea of try this whole pouring my own baits thing. I made a plaster mold on Saturday, and it turned out OK. It looks like it will produce an acceptable product for my intentions. I am OK with the flat side on 1 side, what I do not like is is the matte finish on the baits. Is there something I can do to "shine up" the finish on the plastic? Maybe spray it with some Pam oil or something?

put Elmer's glue on your mold to seal it.
Elmers glue or a few coats of spray lacquar. I have used the lacquar on all my molds. So far the shine has lasted a year with no problems.

I started out making plaster of Paris molds and then when I got over my fears I went to aluminum molds and an injector. You will too. Have fun.
