Are we doing a fall Bash? Chick Lake/River ? Who all would plan on attending?

I am going for sure. Good Lord willing, and the creek don't rise!
More bashes are an excellent idea. Sometimes I think folks do not like outsiders homing in on there hard earned honey holes. How about a new body of water, one that nobody post about, perhaps a big group can find em in tough waters.
We never hear much from:
Lake Anna
North Landing River
Back Bay (Mill landing has docks and a huge parking lot)
Lake Orange
Lake Airfield
Ideas??
airfield is a no go for me...and I live the closest....small, no parking, trolling motor only. 3 trips have produced 0 crappie. super shallow lake that has ALOT of lilly pads and grass, ive heard winter is your best bet for that lake
This is a good idea, but it's a tough sell for most members to waste a day on a place they won't fish under normal conditions--especially if there's a long drive.
A single trip to Airfield has me in full agreement with PP.
We tried a mini-bash at LA once & generally had the same experience that Charlie reports when he goes there--small fish, a lot of miles running, and too many waterbugs.
Lake Orange is out of the way for most members & the only reports I can remember were a couple of years ago by Wasabi. He stated that the place is heavily fished and crappie tend to be small. DGIF lists the most recent crappie citation was April '09.
It's been so long since we had a Beaverdam report that it almost qualifies as a "new body of water."
Does anyone here even fish Back Bay for crappie? If so, I'd love to have you join me in my Lund and show me around.
i'am in for chick river/lake
Lots of crappie caught there and some big ones too, mostly by the bass guys, they just don't talk about it much. Kevin ( I think that was his name) that fished the NW Bash a couple years back had some over two pounds out of North Bay, Hell's Point or the canals in Lago Mar, he just wouldn't say exactly where! I've seen some kids catching some big ones of the docks in Lago Mar when I was inspecting hoses there. Just remember that 6' is deep water there and you can end up run aground real quick there. I haven't fished there in over 25 years and the crappie we caught were around duck blinds or on the edges and in hole of the weed beds, old style dunking with one rod with a minnow under a bobber.
hey grorge last week i was working close to sandbridge and drove down to the canals at sandbridge to see if the milfoil grass was on the east side of the bay. i saw no grass. back in the 70's the whole bay was covered in grass and kept the wave action down to nothing. today it gets pretty rough so you will need a good rough water boat which you have. duck blinds were the key back then and i'm sure thats where you may find them today. i did go there a couple of years ago with my wife and turned around when it started getting rough. i would be glad to show you around but not sure if that pattern still holds up. i know the white perch fishing is pretty awsome from what my old fishing buddy tells me. been wanting to give it a try. tite lines JIM.B
