Shrimp works!

I finally got a chance to go fishing with Croppy1 this weekend, and he taught me how to fish with his shrimp. It really works, and is better than just watching a cork. It is almost like fishing for crappie. Here are a few we caught.

That is a nice mess of fish that you have there. I have some shrimp cut up and salted, just haven't found the time to go try it yet. This is a little motivation. How small did you cut the shrimp?

i use grass shrimp here in Fl. good for crappie, bream, stripers and catfish..

Well, the best way I can describe it would be small......about the size of an 1/8-1/4 ounce jig head. We had been trying to hook up and go, and finally found the time.

Those were caught on Fri., I prob caught 25 Thursday, just no pics (forgot my camera) :(

Thank you. I have them cut about the right size. On a side note, my stepdaughter saw the shrimp bit and thought they would make a good snack. Popped 2-3 in her mouth. Then I told her don't eat all my fishin bait. OH the look on her face. Now I have the ziplock bag marked FISHIN BAIT :)

How do you use the shrimp.

Cut it in small peices, and tip the hook of a small black jig with it. It really works.

Do you boil and salt the shrimp? Just how is it prepared to fish with it?
