clinton Lake 7/20/12
Spent 4 hours this morning dipping minnows around trees. The first tree, the first bite was a nice 13+ inch crappie, thought this might one of those great days. Will it was ok got a couple messes to eat, but not a banner outing. Had to work hard to intice a bite, guess I was not holding my mouth right. At the ramp a older gent (OLDER THAN LBM) was putting his boat togeather after a morning of fishing. Showed me his limit, caught them on frozen minnows. Said at the end of day he just freezes what bait he has left over and uses them later. QUESTION: with the new bait reqs. is this legal to keep bait, even if it is frozen.

Sounds like a good day on the water. Don't know about the regs. on that. He must have been from the north country using frozen minnows. They use them up in Minnesota and North Dakota a lot on walleye after the ice thaws in the spring. They say it pops there scent glands once there frozen and then when they thaw they release the scent.
