what food do u put in perch jigs
I purchase a bag of floating fish food from any feed store in Texas. Small pellet, tan color, good for all kinds of fish including;
catfish, gill & crackers, crappie & warmouth. I fill an empty water bottle, tighten cap, cut a few holes with the pocket knife
and drop it into the trap. It floats, softens slowly, and attracts perch to the trap. It will last a long time and a bag will last a
very long time unless you toss/broadcast it on the water around your trap on a regular basis. It gives off an oil slick that
spreads easily with the wind moving it across the surface of the water. Caution, baiting may be illegal in some states. I pull
a water bottle filled with this behind my kayak and it will attract bait fish quickly. Everywhere you go, if you continue to pull
it behind you, you will leave a trail bait fish will follow. Hope this helps.

Perch Trap??
I do something similar. I use an old mayo plastic jar and drill a few holes in the lid and smaller ones on the side. I have used wax worms, fisih food and tubiflex squares you can get at any pet store. Put a string to the lid, fill the jar, and drop it into the Lake. The scent makes great chum smell.
Ol Roy Dog food (Dry). works great for baitfish and crawdads!!!! If you havent seen them, look at the four leaf clover traps for perch. Amazing.
