Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia (Fall Road Trip)
I'll be leaving Central Indiana this Fall around Mid-October to the beginning of November to head South for warmer Winter temps. I want to pre-plan enough in advance in hopes of making some possible new friends with anyone who wants to get together and fish, or if close enough just to meet-up for a handshake and a cold one (always glad to meet other Forum Members).
One of my other hobbies is Metal Detecting, and I have a few which travel with me, so if anyone had an interest, I'd be willing to do that as well if you have permission to access property, and you'd be more than welcome to use one of my detectors (and I can give you instructions) and gear.
Now for those interested in fishing, my rig (bus and trailer) is nearly 60' long, so it's not something I use as a commuter. That said, I'm more than happy/willing to share expenses if you have a boat (fuel, bait, launch fees, etc), but not interested in paying a Guide Fee (just to be clear). I'm also not opposed to providing a place for lunch since I have a home on wheels. What I'm trying to say is I'll carry my fair share, and not looking to "use" anyone. I Kayak fish, and will have Kayak with me, so anyone else who did would be great, and certainly not opposed to bank fishing. I like Panfishing, Catfishing, and haven't Bass fished for years (but would certainly go), and have gear for all. I'll likely be staying in a Campground, but am open to other spots to park (my rig is pretty self-sufficient) is something was more convenient for everyone.
I'm 55, so someone who has nothing but time and likes to fish (retired?) would be good, I smoke cigarettes (and an occasional Cigar) drink a beer or two (though not necessarily on the water), and have been known to use foul-language on occasion (maybe a little more often) but can control that (100%) when around those who don't.
Some of the places I'd like to hit as I head South (somewhat in order with fuel costs being what they are) are:
Indiana:
Patoka
Ohio River
Kentucky:
Barkley
Kentucky
Tennessee:
Reelfoot
Mississippi:
Arkabutla
Sardis
Enid
Grenada
Alabama:
Weiss
Georgia:
Alltoona
Clarks Hill
Eufala
I'm not opposed to other places if someone is nearby some of those locations, and I'm open for suggestions/offers of other spots. I'd also be interested in any nearby fishing "get-togethers" I may not be aware of. Probably more I could add, but can't think of at the moment, so if anyone has any interest in Fishing and/or Metal Detecting this Fall (or questions), send me a PM (or post here). Ditto for anyone who Camps/travels in RV who has a trip planned this Fall to any of those locations. Anyone who offers will get the same offer (from me) should you come through my area while I'm in Indiana.
I didn't do any advanced planning last year, and it turned-out to be pretty boring, so I thought I'd get a jump on things this time around.
Thanks!
Brian
