Hot day at Diascund

Yesterday's forecast called for mid-90's at Diascund, so I got an early start.

By the time the boat was loaded and launched, there was enough light to find my way to the first stop of the day.

At launch time, WT was 80* and air temp was 60*--cool enough that a jacket felt good. Shortly after the sun came up, the jacket was gone and temps started climbing fast.

The bite was slow--even early. The sun was up by the time the first one was in the boat.

More than a few threw the hook close to the boat, but I wasn't keeping them, so didn't bother using the net...until this one (14.5"):

That was just after 10:00 and count for the day stood at 19, with only 3 or 4 that were 10"+. A light breeze helped, but by mid-afternoon WT hit 87*, the air was 90*, and the count had increased to only 24. It was only a 10-hour day, but I'd had enough.

Yesterday was my second and final trip for June, and Lanexa's forecast calls for 102* today, 103* tomorrow, and close to 100* until the middle of next week. Looks like July's off to a very slow start.

Nice fish, at least the last few days havent been too humid, last thu an fri was unbearable

Nice job in the heat. How do you show a picture then write and show more pictures and do you have to go out and start over to find pictures each time. Wife has so much trouble for each picture that we do not do many,and can't write after she do pictures

I hated to throw away the final 5 hours of the day, but it was HOT! Tomorrow & Sunday will be much hotter, so everyone who's going out should carry plenty of water and look for occasional spots in the shade.

I've always used PhotoBucket (PB) to hold the pictures in my posts. When I get home from a trip, I pop the SD chip out of my camera and plug it into a port on the front of my PC. (Before this PC, I used a little $10 gadget that plugs into a USB port on the PC & then the SD card plugs into the gadget.) My PB page is bookmarked, so one click opens it up & one more click opens "file upload". Then, I click into the folders on the SD card and go to my images. PB lets me pick several at a time & uploads them automatically.

Under each uploaded file, PB supplies the code C.c requires in order to display an image. The code for each image looks like this when I paste it into my post: [ IMG]http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii299/corker_/P1030300.jpg[ /IMG] When the C.c board software sees image tags [IMG]...[/IMG] in a post, it fetches the image from the URL between the tags and displays the image, not the code.

After pasting in an image, just keep on typing your report. Anywhere else you want another image, you do the same thing. While I'm writing a trip report, I keep two browser windows open at the same time: the C.c message composition page, and my PB picture album.

It's usually a good idea to start a new line after each image. Otherwise, the text is kind of hard to follow.

Supposed to be 107 here tomorrow...it was today.:( But I havent been on the water in a couple weeks and cant stand it any longer. I plan on being at the ramp at first light and fishing until @ 9:30 or so. When that sun starts getting high and hot I'm calling it a day. Tomorrow is the first day this week that we havent had 10+ mph winds. I just hope theyre still close to where they were a couple weeks ago and I can get on 'em quick.
