Cub Scout fishing night
Tonight I hosted my sons den meeting and we worked on the fishing belt loop. Kept it simple with just bobbers, and worms and a known sunfish area at the local launch. Simple turned into a full time job re worming the hooks, untangling rods (sometimes multiple rods tied together), and reminding the kids that when their bobber is screaming across the water they just may have a fish on the other end. 5 of the 6 kids caught at least one fish and one kid pulled out 6 in one hour. Not too bad for a bunch of 8yr olds.
Capped of the night with my sons prescription glasses going into the drink.
Hope I inspired a few more future fisherman.

Good job, Sorry to hear about the glasses in the water.

Today i grabbed the swim mask and headed out on a salvage mission. Water was too murky to find the glasses visually. I grabbed the big landing net and started dredging. Five tries and up come the glasses with a ton of muck
Just saved $400 that I can add to the 798si fund.

What a wonderful dad. Cubs are a great start to scouting. I know as I am scout master of a troop here in currituck. Not enough dads give up their time to be with the boys. Somebody else has to put in all the work, driving. I will admit when some of my boys made eagle I received the mentor pins. We as adult scouters think that is baby sitters of america. Ok off the soap box.

Got to agree with Tahoe and Ranger, too few kids get to experience the outdoors any more or have someone take the time with them.
