Not Milford but we have been doing great at Pomona catching wipers and white bass. We limited out on wipers this morning by 8:15 after getting on the water at 7:30. Biggest we kept was 23 inches and the smallest we kept was 20. Caught probably 12 or 15 that we threw back that were 16-19 inches.
Caught all of them trolling white bombers on the humps in wolf creek arm.
Cleaned 21 white bass this morning as well. Once we found them on the humps we couldnt troll 50 yards without catching either a white bass or a wiper. It was great!!:biggrin
Wipers were real good at Mildord in the morning. Bite really droped off towards 11am. Wind is a problem this time of year. Seeing a lot of smallish fish, lots of 16" to 22". Caught probably 35 -40 in the morning, didn't break 22". Caught more Wipers then Whites.
Wow! If you are calling a 22 inch wiper a "smallish" fish then what in the world is a big wiper at Milford? Maybe I need to get headed up that way!!:fish
You say you caught more Wipers then Whites so do you mean you caught all the Wipers first and then nothing but White Bass or do you mean you caught more Wipers Than White bass?
We normally catch both species at the same time in the same areas. I have not noticed a time difference for catching one species or the other once we find them such as catching one species exclusively and then the other later.
Maybe there is something to the timing of one versus the other. I had not thought of that. :dono
Crappieslinger, Are they surfacing in the morning. My boat is not set up for trolling so I do alot of casting and I love top water action but have never fished Pomona to date.

They are surfacing but not as much as they have in the past. They are hard to stay with once they start surfacing, they go down pretty quick and it takes a while to find them again.
When we were chasing them on the surface a couple weeks ago probably 3 out of 4 times it would be White bass and not Wipers.
We normally have the best luck chasing them on the surface about the last hour of daylight as opposed to mornings.
Thanks Crappieslinger, since I have never caught a wiper what does a 22 inch fish weigh? Seems like a big fish to me.

It has been a while since I have weighed any fish as I normally go by length but I would say a 22 incher would weigh 5-6 lbs. A 22 incher is a great fish in my book and a whole lot of fun to catch especially on light tackle!
Here is one that i caught on topwater a couple of weeks ago!!Attachment 94421
