Anyone had any issues with humminbird sonar shutting down on its own?
rotfl yep. My power button was sticking when I turned it on. Lost alot of hair before I figured that out.
it will also shut down when your batteries are low!!!!
Had that issue yesterday with a brand new unit. Luckily all it was for me was a loose nut attaching the power cord to the console.
On my Triton, if battery power is marginal and I have both livewells recirculating on a timer my front Humminbird will shut down when they both come on at once. The rear 997 stays on no matter what. I haven't figured that out yet. I try not to use both livewells on recirculate if I can help it. Don't use them at all in the hot hot summer unless its a tourney and have to keep fish alive.... At least when the front one shuts off I am already up there and can just flip it back on but it gets irritating after a while, LOL...
What they said , I've seen depthfinders shut off when a battery or connection is loose when I ran something that pulled alot of power. I had a depthfinder that shut off when I ran the trolling motor with battery low.
I had that problem on my boat. Finally changed to a larger series battery and that took care of the problem.
If it is going off while your are starting the motor, your battery is to small. A series 31 cranking attery will solve that problem.
