Met a jerk at the supermarket

Just a little rant to get it off my chest.

Went to the grocery store a little while ago. It's one of those big warehouse style stores that funnel you through an asle with stuff that's on sale before you can get into the main part of the store. The discount asle is on the left, with the exit area for the checkstands on the right. The closed checkstands are blocked with a sliding barrier, but when they close the discount asle for restocking, they remove the barrier on the last checkstand so people can get into the store.

I grabbed a cart in the entryway and went inside. I stopped for a split second to verify the discount asle was closed and headed for the detour. There was a guy already inside the store and he went into it ahead of me. I follow him into the chute, and he stops right at the register and starts going through his pockets. This is the only way in, and it's so narrow I can't go around.

So I politely said "Excuse me." thinking he's going to move. He just stands there, still going through his pockets. Thinking he didn't hear me, I say it a bit louder. Finally after a good minute, he turns and glares at me, so I explain, "You're blocking the only way through." At this point there's someone behind me, so he finally walks forward the 10 feet so people can get by. As I walk past, he says "I was doing something." and I said, "Then don't stop where you're blocking the only way through." Then he goes, "I'll stop wherever I want, MA'AM." and walks off.

I'm sure he did it on purpose just to be a jerk. There was plenty of room in the checkstand exit area where he was standing before I got inside and in the center asle, but he HAD to stop in the one spot where there was a bottleneck and he could be an inconvience to anyone behind him. It was a guy at least in his 60s, not some rude young punk. I guess bitter, entitled a-holes come in all ages.

if I see him again and he tries that **** I'm just going to run over him with my cart.

Years ago I had a similar experince. A couple of middle age women were waiting on parking spot. There was a open space two spots up but they wanted close to the door. I was on the way to work and had limited time. I sat for about 5 minutes then honked my horn cause I could not back up with cars behind me. They looked in the mirror and laughed. Finally the car pulled out and they pulled in. I took the spot they would not 2 spaces up.
Once inside the store same lady (use that loosely) ran her cart into my legs bruising my heels . That hurt and I turned around , gave her a dirty look. She says excuse me and grinned real big. I walked up beside her cart and kicked it over in the store. She hollared and I left. I was walking back into the store after changing coats in my truck. I was wearing a blue one and changed to red. Security ran past looking for a man wearing a blue coat.Rofl Sometimes a enough is enough.
See jerks at the boat ramp all the time blocking ramps . Nothing worse than someone with their boat parked on the boat ramp after launching.:bash:mad:

There's way too much in life to get worked up over the little things. There's a-holes walking all over this planet, there's no way around it. I would have said something to him, but wouldn't let it ruin my day.

I guess bitter, entitled a-holes come in all ages.

Deal with that type of crap daily it seems now. My wife and I about got plowed in the Lowes parking lot yesterday by an older lady who was driving and talking on the phone. She was pretty far off so we started to walk out in the parking lot. Had to get back on the curb quickly because she was coming at us at a pretty fast speed. She just kept on, speeding past us and had the time to stare at us on her way by. What can you do.

I was at the grocery store at a very busy time. Two checkouts were going, but both stacked 5 to 6 deep. I was number 2 with one guy in front of me. The guy lays his stuff on the counter and the lady rings up a total, and it was something like $19.89 total. This Guy dumps a huge sack of mostly pennies, with a few nickles and dimes in the pile on the counter for payment!!! The lady stood there in disbelief, and then started counting all the pennies and other coins! This took what seemed like forever, many people behind me were making rude comments, and going over to the other check out that was now about 8 to 10 deep in waiting customers.
Finally the cashier said that the guy didn't have enough money and needed 35 cents or to take something back? The guy stood there for a minute - reached in his pocket and then handed her a friggin $20.00 dollar bill!!! I could not believe my eyes! The cashier was furious - but bit her tongue until the guy left. Some people????
