Lee lead pot pouring issue???

I recently got the 10lb production pot and poured couple hundred jigs just fine and now it seems to just drip out slowly where it will not go into the mold. Does any one have any suggestions on how to fix it?

There may be some trash right at the spout...you must wear eye protection and gloves ..I get a small diameter stiff wire with pliers and with the pot up to temp. poke the wire in the spout(from underneath) while you hold the gate open...I keep a small catch pan under the spout to keep from hot lead splashing everywhere...please be carful!!! that is how I clean mine!

I would empty the pot of its lead. Take the spout stopper out by removing the top two screws. I do this by having the pot on still. Setting on about 4. And I take the end of the wire that is bent to hang the mold up with. And bend it out alittle. And run this into the spout. But be careful!!! Also remember to flux your lead..

Ok Thanks!!! Not really sure what you mean by fluxing the lead. The lead I have I got off ebay.

Fluxing is the term used to describe the process of removing impurities from the lead. There are commercial compounds available. Also, borax works too.

The best thing to use is candle wax.Do it outside, use white unscented wax. It will smoke and catch on fire..

I like bacon grease too!! Works great for fluxing and the smell of meat candy just keeps on giving.

If you look at the pin that stops/starts the flow of lead it is slotted on top. Take a flat head screwdriver and turn it back and forth several times. This usually will stop the dripping.

I'm going to put a hook in the bug of yours Bill! LOL.

Turning the pin work for me most of the time also.

I make my own spinners so I keep a long piece of stainless steel wire handy. Put a steel cup under the spout then run the wire down through the lead and out the pour spout. Pull it back and forth to clear the spout then pull it out.

You have no way of knowing how the lead you buy from Ebay is cleaned up for sale so flux it!!!! It definately helps!!!!!!!!
