Went out to Glen for the first time this weekend. Got on the water Saturday morning about 7:30 heard they were catching crappie in brush 12-15' fow. Decided to fish some brush from the KDWP posted coordinates. Tried the swin beach area first caught a couple throw backs and one keeper. Went to a cove on the north side (Hwy 24 crosses it) and tried shallow caught 21" walleye no crappie. Went over and tried Shcoen cove nothing. Went down to causway caught 4 keepers but really slow. Headed back up to marina got gas ate lunch. Heard they were catching crappie on dam in 12-15' fow din't see a boat tried it for about 15 min nothing. Moved over to south bluffs cove about 3:30 found some in the brush pile there probably another 3 or 4 keepers. Decided to try it shallow in that cove and found fish in 3-4 fow. Ended up cathing 20 keepers in about an hour and a half. Most were males colored up. My fishing partner was ready to call it a day aroud 6:00 even though she didn't fish due to motion sickness.
Went back out Sunday moring hit the water at 8:00 went right back to south bluffs and caught fish in 3-4 fow in the cove and along south bluff. We were just jigging with the long poles black and chartruse. Wind picked up at pretty bad at 11 made it tough to fish. We headed out around 11:30 ended up with 45 keepers smallest was probably 11" or a little better only had 7 throw back which were about 10". My partner even managed to chip a few in that day too.
All in all with was a good trip even though I had to spend 8 hrs trying to find the fish.
