Well it's been a few weeks since CrappieKeeper and I placed our first short cane condos made from 4" PVC drain pipe. I'm happy to report that the crappie moved onto them quickly. We caught probably 30 of these on the new condos. Lots of times the hooks would have green cane leaves on them with the slabs!

I sure do like that idea you got there. Makes it easy for carrying out and putting together on the spot too. You could also use other types of limbs. Thanks for the idea. Ferdi aka Fred How is Abbey doing?

What length are you cutting the pvc at?
Are you cutting out a 2in hole in pvc?
How many holes per pvc pipe?
How many you dropping per spot?
I am anxious to build some of these soon..

just looking at it, it prolly doesnt matter much. Cut the pvc as tall as YOU want it to stick off the bottom and drill holes (i would think) big enough to stick a couple pieces thru each hole. You may even want to use a larger hole saw so you can stick pieces in from both directions. I think thats what Im gonna try anyway.
Hi Ferdi, Abbie is doing fine and going fishing every trip. She's having some vision problems in low light and at night though. I like the idea of sticking cane thru from both directions. It would take a pretty good sized hole because of the branches. We have dropped 2 in one location about 35 feet apart. We catch fish on both of them and I recommend doing this some as it gives you a close place to fish if you shake the first one up. Still working on a few other ideas.

How big are these showing up on the depth finder?....I know the boo wants to float up in the water....

Only at first, after a period of time, they sag, due to getting water logged. But they still show up great on the sonar. We have no problem seeing them.

thats one thing I actually like about boo, you can see it so well on sonar.
