Seems like this would be a good ideal, maybe get some folks involved in tournament fishing who are on the fence, and even up the odds for everybody. I know the Big Bass Bonanza on the Arkansas River is a hit every year... So why not a Big Crappie Classic on the Arkansas river or whereever. Just thowing it out there. Who would be interested?
The West TN Crappie Club and Shoals Area Crappie Club in Alabama are co-hosting a Big Fish tourney on Pickwick Lake on June 16. It will pay $500 for 1st place (based on a minimum of 20 boats). This is our first year to do it, but we had a similiar thought....Big Fish tourney should stir some interest. Also, it will pay 1 in 3 boats entered. I realize Pickwick may be a bit of a drive, but feel free to contact me at 901-359-0871 if anyone is interested. just thought I would mention in case there is anyone interested....and I believe you have a good idea.
