Freecycle.org ????
Has anyone ever heard of this or used this group? Are they on the up and up? I sometimes have stuff that is still good but I hate to throw away. I usually wind up donating stuff to some group but would rather just give it to someone that could really use it or maybe just can't afford to buy it. This sounds like maybe the way to go unless it winds up in a flea market making money for others that don't need it.

I've never heard of it here in Ga.

I subscribe to the one in my area here in Texas. I've given away a bunch of stuff. Once you find a taker you can usually just leave it on the porch or end of driveway for them to pick up. I've also gotten a couple of items, memory for an old PC, and a graphic card for an old PC. Some Freecycle sites also have a Freecycle Cafe forum you can subscribe to for "off topic" chat by members of the Freecycle forum. You can meet and get to know some good people in your area that you otherwise wouldn't.
I like it.

Long time subscriber here. It's a great way to pick up and unload things. Baby stuff is REAL popular, toys and games, followed by furnishings and kitchen stuff. My little guy has got himself TONS of HO train stuff on Freecycle.
