I've been using two part epoxy for eyes on powder painted jigheads. Tried Lurecraft Poly-Sil paint for jig eyes last week and it seemed to bond better than the two part epoxy. It has a four to one mix ratio of paint to catalyst and is available in small bottles. It bonded well and dried tough. Plastics and worm oil don't seem to affect it so no need for any topcoat. Bad part is the paint has a hazardous shipping charge ($25.00) which hurts if only buying a small bottle.

I have used acrylic pair for a long time, but I clear coat over only after its good and dry. I clear coat some with Sally Henaon's Hard as Nails, but over either of the Chartreuse colors I use clear vinyl. If you use clear nail polish it will change the chartreuse colors.
Lately if I use a white eye with Black pupil I just use vinly for the eye and seems to work well!
There are lots of guys that use many different paints, like some use Testors!
I have done extensive testing on several paints and the vinyl paint from CS Coatings is by far the most durable. It stinks and has to be thinned a lot but it will not come off and one very important point is it will not be affected by the plastic baits. No extra shipping charges. Ships by ground only!

My second choice is Createx Wicked Colors. Made to spray on Lexan and it holds up pretty good. Will not fade or dilute after 7 days in my water test. The paint is a little thin but easy to work with and hardly has any oder. I use the florescent red for a base with a black dot and the eyes hold up well after 24 hours of drying time.

Hope this helps. I use wooden dowel rods I trim down in one of the large pencil sharpeners to get the many sizes I use.
The Vinyl I use is from CSI too!
If I could ever get CSI to email or call me back and try my idea it would be easy to do eyes in powder paint. Until then, I don't paint eyes for the most part, not steady enough hands to use wet paint. The ones I have done was with nail polish and as long as I let them dry a good long time before messing with them they stuck rather well without clear coating. I have finally found a small enough jar with a tight lid and wide enough opening to put a couple bottles of Hard as Nails in so I can dip them if I ever need to clear coat anything.
I would love to hear your idea either by PM or here. I am thinking CSI doesn't want to talk about eyes because they sell an liquid paint eye dotting machine.Quote:

I use drill bits that have a flat end on them. Most of us guys have drill bits and all you need is a few for different size heads, Use one about half the size of the first color for the pupil.
Here are some eyes I did on one of my Fire Tiger jigs using drill bits and vinyl paint for eyes over powder paint.
