Newbie From Savannah
I just moved to Savannah, Ga a few months ago fro work after serving in the Navy. I am originally from South Louisiana and love to fish. I was raised fishing for Crappie( White Perch as my dad called them) and Red-fish. I have looked all over the place for live shiners and cant seem to find any. I Live in Savannah Quarters and there are a ton of ponds all over the subdivision and want to try my luck. If anyone knows of where i can get them in this area would be greatly appreciated. Also any known lakes in the area to find Crappie, not asking for your spot just a lake to start out on and i can figure out the spots myself, at least i think i can.

:welcome from Middle GA...You are not too far away from Clarks Hill whick is one of the better places in GA to crappie fish..I am not too familiar with that part of the state so I don't know of many places to tell you to try to fish at...Jimmy s is from Savannah and he would probably be a ton of info for you for that area.

isitug9889 wecome to Savannah you will find minnows at Joiners conner on Hy.204. go south on Ogeethee rd.also known as Hy. way 17 south to Hy.way 204 turn right and folow that 5 or 6 miles where the road splits and you will find Joiners conner sitting in the forks of the road. also Lake Mayer on montgomery cross rds. has nice crappie but you will need a boat after the spawn . put in at the ramp and go to the nothwest conner , it is about 22 ft deep there and fish due east about 20 feet from the bank you will find a hump that raises up to about 17 feet, last time that is where I found them. Jimmy S. ps ment to suggest you go to Bass Pro Shop and pick up thier brand of tripple ripple jigs black/ chartuse and long line or cast with a jig head heavy enough to get it deep also no more than 6 pound test line, 4 lb. is better . also tight line with minnows.. good luck!
