I have a three bank charger, and one of my trolling batteries is getting fairly WARM to the touch and have to add a fairly amount of water to it about every two weeks,, it's a gueist charger.,,, never noticed it before,, do you think it's a battery issue or charger issue?
Switch the two battery charger leads and see if the other battery gets hot. If I was guessing, I'd say your battery is the problem. Bad thing about the 24 volt setup is both batteries need to be as close alike as possible, meaning you need to replace both at the same time. Good luck, sometime electrical problems will drive you nuts.

Most often a hot to the touch battery is a sign the battery is about done.
Look up Catfan from KY, he deals with batteries for a living.
I think everybody else has pretty well covered it. Your battery is most likely bad. Swap the cables to verify.
Sorry, for got to say it's a 12 volt system and i have two trolling batteries with cross over cables,,would that make a difference. I want to thank everyone for there replies,,anyone else with an opion is welcomed.
In that case, I would disconnect the batteries from each other, let sit overnight and measure the voltage on each. Depending on the brand and type of battery, you are looking for 12.65-13V.Quote:
