I would like to hear some reports too. We will be going down the week of May 14th and curious if the spawn may be sooner than normal.
I had read that the shad treatment worked well, but also took out alot of walleye in the process. They were not expectng that. Sounds like they stocked a few more too. I think the treatment was the winter before last, so everything should be fine by now.
Here is a fishing report on Sugema put out by the Iowa DNR on the 19th of this month.
"Lake Sugema contains the invasive plant brittle naiad so make sure not to transport any plant fragments in your equipment. Crappies and bluegills have begun biting in the shallows and largemouth bass fishing is starting to pick up. Try small jigs for the crappies and bluegills and baits like spinnerbaits or crankbaits for the bass. Focus on areas that will warm quicker than the rest of the lake like northern shorelines that receive the most sunlight."
Not yet, but soon will be!! Will be checking this post for updates!!
we will be there the same time Iowa
Any recent news to provide on the lake, hoping they turn on right about now!!
