Adding an extra brake light on each side. After I hooked the brake lights up (total of four) the original 2 lights are dimmer now. My question is can I increase the fuse size to my explorer from 7.5a to 10a to add more power to the trailer? Figured it never hurts to ask before I blow something up :). Thanks guys!

What your getting is voltage drop. Increasing fuse does nothing for this. The fuse only protects the wire and increasing will only decrease this protection. The correct fix would be to run a larger size wire. Good luck hope this helps.

I would say you need to go back and check your grounds real good. Normal trailer light wiring should not have that much voltage drop from just adding 2 more lights. Hope this helps.

Well I clean the grounds .. original light didn't get as dim so I deemed it good ... lights ran for 10mins on the left side and the everything went dark on that side .. so now I'm have a Jack and coke ..mostly Jack!

Yes its not designed fer that long of a current draw. Plus you added load to the curcuit. Replace the fuse and you should be good... I'll have a capt. And coke and check back with ya. LOL

I am a gator fan (heck my dogs name is Tebow) but that name was given to me years ago by the guys I work with. Partly because I grew up in Florida and I can't post the other reason. Let's just say it had to do with a woman. LOL
