On the Ks. board you could ask crappie chatt and shane,they would know.I have contrast @ 70 and my side scan width works best for me @ 40-50'.palate is just what color you prefer.Hope this helps ya.Chatt and Shane are my go to guys.

Most of what I read advised 3x - 4x water depth = side scan range. It seems good to me.
Sensitivity depends on transducer setting 800=70, 455=50. These are only estimates. A wise man here (Cane Pole) once said, "it's got buttons, push them" and I'll add; don't be afraid to mess it up, you won't.
65 sen. palet I change arround a lot,,,, push buttons take note pad, write down what you like, the play the heck out of it, when done go back to note book and set it up....
