We don’t have a LakeMaster chip for Alabama yet (its in the mail…) but I would guess that the light and darker blue depths are controlled by the Shaded Depth menu in your 798 unit. Try changing that menu setting and see if it changes the water depths that are shaded on your 798 unit.
Greg, if you frequent the creeks of Eufaula, you will be upset with that chip. They pretty much only stayed in the main lake when they surveyed.
Hey Stymie , What about Wilson, Bear creek, Wheeler ?? is the new chip any good for them ? Thanks
I didn't look at Wilson.
Wheeler, they did ok on the creeks downstream of the power plant, then must have gotten in a hurry because they skipped the flats, East lake, Flint Creek and Anderson Creek. In my opinion, Navionics did a better job on 1st and 2nd creek, and lakemaster did a better job on spring, mallard and fox. Garmin still has more information than the others on the flats, East Lake, Flint and Anderson.
Lakemaster did not survey the BCDA lakes. If you are talking about Bear Creek on Pickwick, navionics has better information on it.
If you like the info shown on the Atlantic Mapping paper charts, then you will like the Garmin Inland Lakes Maps. Pretty much the same info derived from the surveys done before TVA impounded the lakes.
