build a suspended brush pile? I was thinking of using bamboo's natural floating ability to build a pile that I could maybe place out by the main river channel. Or right at the mouth of a major creek. Something like having one in 50 ft of water that is from 20-35 ft off the bottom. I just have to figure out how to gather 10 or so stalks, spread them for coverage, and then attach them to a rope and cement blocks. Has anyone ever tried something similar? I think it would be great. Thoughts?
Seems like a cool idea, but the rope may rot and carry your stucture away might need to use the nylon so it will live longer under water, i just dont know if the bamboo will keep floating and not just fill with water and sink
I think the boo will crack after awhile. I would use 2 lids from 5 gal. buckets and drill about 2" holes in them and put the boo threw the 2" holes and tie some milk jugs too each end of the boo. Then attach the line and blocks. Then go fishing there in a few days.
Why not make a upside down Christmas tree in a 5gallon bucket and sink it?
I make Boo Balls and the floam in the middle allows them to float. Work great fpr suspended structures.

got to admit, the boo balls are something completely different than anything I've seen. Looks like it should work. Let us know how the do at attracting fish and how long they will last.
I've had my 1st ones out for 3 years and they are still floating. Making them is easy, just tie about 4-6 pieces of of 4'-5' stalks of Boo together. I use electric fence wire. Then I use the spray on crack sealer (FOAM). Just need enough foam to hold the joint secure and in places. I can get about 4 Boo Balls out of each can of foam. Then I figure out the depth of water I am putting it in, then how much I want it off the bottom, and adjust my wire to that depth.
I have a few made that have a 7'-8' diameter in about 25' of water. Then I have 4-5 of the Boo Balls in 1 area creatinga 20' diameter crappie structure.
The good thing is when it is seen on Sonar, it looks like a Bait Ball. I really like these.

1 thing to remember is as depth increases so does water pressure; might be tempted to use coated light steel cable to anchor them...
