So this motor is like new, maybe two years old, used very little. I was fishing Saturday and all of a sudden it just stopped working. Nothing happens when I press the peddle or even flip with switch manually. I checked the fuse and it was still good, anyone have any ideas of what might be wrong with it?
Can you give a little more info about the boat and motor? 12V, 24V or 12/24? If the boat was originally wired for a 12/24 motor, you may have two fuses. I'd verify the fuse by checking it with an ohmmeter or verifying you have proper voltage at the bow.
Pull the connector and check for heat discoloration or corrosion
Some models have an ON/OFF toggle switch on the side of the foot control. I've accidentally flipped the switch by mistake. A buddy of mine called me 2 weeks ago with same problem and that's what happened to him too.
I'd check that 1st.
checked the toggle, it's a 12 v, I'll check the fuses again but thought they were good!
Slide your plug in and out several times, the brass connectors often get oxidation on the preventing proper contact.
What is the voltage on the battery that the Trolling Motor is connected to?
It's a regular 12v deep cycle battery

U can also try using a battery charger (not the smart charge models that detect load) to eliminate the boat wiring too. Just a sugg.
These motors have two fuses correct? I'm planning on working on it after work, should be fishing but I gotta take care of this first!
