Played hookie today

Well today I did something I dont Normally do. I skipped work and went to deepwater to try and catch some fish. It was great. Got a new box full of jig fixins and a bucket of minnows and headed out with my new ultra lite. The water was incredibly high from what I remembered and I didn't catch a single crappie but a cat and bass were fun to fight on that ultra lite. All in all great morning. Left before the rain started.

I realized how much I need a boat. A spent a lot of time walking from one spot to the next instead of trolling up and down the stump rows. I may just have to make jade mad and go get something. It may not be the best but something small and inexpensive would be a good start.

A boat doesn't have to be purty (thank god)....take her out and get her hooked on fishing....the fight won't be near as bad!

Kayak...

A kayak or canoe or jon boat would get you out and about on the water relatively cheap. Kayak would probably work best just to get out there and not have to worry about much but fishing. And they go wherever you want them to, even really shallow stuff.
