I have been messing with my settings on the DI and on the water the 2d shows alot more than the DI (except the occasional stump)
Even the cover I just haven't gotten the picture perfect quality. Also when I take it and put the recordings on the Humviewer--the pics aren't very clear (comparing to what others have posted) and help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You may need to crank up the sensitivity some. If you are fishing in clear waters you can turn the sensitivity up high and not clutter the image. I commonly run mine on 15-18 out of 20. You may also want to tinker around with different color palettes. Some palettes are at little hotter than others. No matter what you do you will find the DI is not as sensitive as the 2D sonar. However, you should still have not problem using it to find fish, bait fish, and cover. When I first started using mine I used the split screen a lot watching the 2D and DI at the same time. Now that I have gotten used to the DI I don't even both with the 2D much at all. Good luck with it and hang in there, you will get it all figured out.
Thanks guys for the input. Do either of you use the humview for recordings? I get alot of junk on it that I don't see on the water (looks like interference) but I have zero of it when using it in real time?

no problem. I just realized the Doug V feller mentioned--I have talked to him before. On his DI video looks like I need to turn my sensitivity down a bit--think that may do it. The recording is way cool. I typically record all day-and look at them at the house and make waypoints. I have a 597 so the screen is small and you can't see that much on do (so far) so the recording is a very big help.
I just started using hummview this weekend and experience the lack of quality video compared to real time on the sonar unit itself . I use the humminbird side imaging forums for good info and one guy said quality should be as good as on the unit, But its not .
yep--that's what I'm seeing. I will have spots on the viewer that are clean-then further down the scan has all kinds of junk.Quote:
