My trolling motor is stuck on high speed. It happened once but then the speed control started working again. Now it’s like it stuck on high full time. minn kota maxxum 74
I guess you can just replace the part? Is it the blue thing. Any tips, instructions and where to get the part would be helpful. Thanks in Advance!
Measure the voltage on the output of the 'blue' thing and see if it varies with the control. When mine'maximizer speed control' failed it was the unit fed by the variable that was bad, got the right part from Newark Electronics. good luck--shu
If you can get the numbers of the blue thing (potentiometer I'm guessing), it may be a cheap part to replace yourself.
Wouldn't measuring Ohms be an easier test than measuring voltage?
Most of the time that indicates a bad board, but check the pot as described and you'll know. Also make sure the knob is actually turning the shaft.
Good point...if the knob is broken and the shaft doesn't turn, it will stay on whatever the last speed wasQuote:
