Anybody fishing horseshoe . If so are you having any luck?
Went today. Honestly, it sucked. First time all year that I got skunked. Did get a little peanut up to the top only to loose him. Fished shallow up in the trees, all up and down the piers used minners, every color jig I could imagine, nothing. The little dude I did manage to get to bite was in 12 ft of water sittin on the bottom. :dono
fished there all last week. results were hit and miss. Kept 18 for the entire week but they were hawgs. two were 16 inches. I caught them jigging piers anywhere from 6 to 12 ft deep and fishing shallow with a cork 10-12 inches deep. No rhyme or reason. Most were big males. Only 5 or so were females.
I fished there on the 24th and we ended up catching 3. They were shallow and small.
Come on bluegills. The crappie reports have crappy.

I'm new to the crappie hunt and had a question regarding a term that I've seen. What are piers that you are talking about in Horseshoe?
Horseshoe has lots of houses around it on one side, and every single house has a long pier coming out in the water where they tie their pontoons up , and have three jet skis, and a big ski boat hoisted up into the rafters. And lots of em will put xmas trees around the piers to fish around.
Private piers that are on the lake that home owners build. Most have at least two boat stalls and a deck. They extend out into the lake and many of them have 20 foot water at the end.
Fish the older piers in the shady spots. The bite at the Shoe has been off all year. Spotty at best. I live near it, and haven't fished it all year, and probably won't. The fleas and ticks will take over soon!!! (sea-doos, ski boats, and pontoons)

Yall must think I'm an idiot. The horseshoe I thought yall were talking about is at Millwood and there ain't any houses near it. I thought piers was some type of structure or point.
