Taylorsville
Hi to all, I'm a newbie here and found this forum on tapatalk. Y'all give some nice reports and good info. I just wanted to share that I went to taylorsville lake today on the chowning boat dock side and caught some nice crappie. Around 18 all together and three bluegill. Six were keepers, the rest were a little shy of 9 inches but nice and chunky. Fun day all in all. I wish I would have took some pics but too excited and forgot. Twelve nice fillets will make a couple of good sandwiches. I was using blue metal flake tubes and chartreuse curly tail jigs. Couldn't find minnows around here or I believe it would of put a whoopin on them. Lol. Also fishing around 12-18 inches deep with a jig pole in the stickups. Good luck

Welcome to Crappie.com !!
Nice report !! Thanks for the info.
Can't say much for your choice of bait/colors ... except that I've put many a "whoopins" on T-ville Crappie, using a Elec Blue/Charteuse tube Rofl
Seriously though ... it's as good a color combo as any I've used, and it was the only color combo that I used for several years fishing Taylorsville. Probably the three main things that have been productive at Taylorsville Lake, for me, has been the Elec Blue/Char tube, Chartreuse marabou Roadrunner, & minnows .... in that order.
... cp

Welcome to the board KYgrizzly, maybe I'll run in to you sometime at T-ville. Usually put in at Settlers Trace when I go there.

Fished tville 03/24/12 and didn't have much luck, I did manage to bring home 8 nice black crappie because of my mini tale jigs. My uncle and grandmother actually went out on the 23rd and brought home 28 nice crappie. The water color is a milky brown but had some green in a few creeks. Crappie were not on the banks yet as far as I could tell, ended up catching my few around 10-15 foot of water around 3 feet deep. If anyone has any tips they would be appreciated greatly, tville has been beat up the past few years with hard rains and makes fishing the slabs difficult. Any tips will that will help with my next outting?
