Just got a chance to use the 798c that I bought used a few months back

and while on DI or SI I can barely see the display on the screen, its very faint, so I tried to change the colors and it will not change to any other color other than amber, I have restored to defaults also. everything works on sonar and the readouts,all work. I just cant change colors on the DI & SI settings. only thing I have done to the unit is to update the software from 5.45 to 5.84 on the unit. anybody had this to happen to them ?

Make sure that you are using the SI Color menu on the full Si sonar or full Di sonar Views. This is a separate menu from the Sonar Colors menu for the 2D sonar that is found under the Sonar menu tab…

I think there is a sub menu for contrast also. Maybe the previous owner turned the contrast way down.

The side finder contrast and other screen options can be found by putting the unit in the side finder mode, then hitting menu, then select enhance. Another menu will pop up with contrast and a few other settings.
