Terrova I-pilot for a new one. Foot and hand )(remote) control in one unit. :)
pdv2 on my boat with Ipilot. Can't use the foot control but don't miss it one bit.
I still use a foot control with a varible speed,it seem's to me when fishing shallow and in tight place's I have more control of the boat.
I have the riptide PD-V2 with autopilot and co-pilot and it does fine for me. Most folks go for the I-Pilot and all but 2 have loved them, and those two didn't like the response time compared to a cable steer. The US-2 is an option I should have gone with.
something to consider is what type of fishing you prefer. If trolling/LL/pushing or pulling CB's, then IP is the ticket. If you jig/shoot docks & hover alot, alot of people don't like the electric steer models/IP/spot lock, and prefer the cable steer models. If you do it all, then you gots some thinking to do.
I just bought a Terrova with the iPilot, US2 and a foot control. I'll never have another boat without this technology. It has revolutionized the way I fish. I bet I get 30% more fishing done every time I go out. I haven't yet used the foot pedal...I have it...it's just so convenient to use the remote that I've not tried the pedal yet. Spot lock is a God send. Auto pilot makes trolling effortless. I can sit back at the console, watch my navionics maps on the finder, and use the hand control to stay on them or cross them in any manner I want...and I can change my trolling speed with the push of a button too. Controlling the boat from anywhere on it is like having an invisible deck hand that does exactly what you want, right when you want it, with no questions asked.
It is a revolutionary technology. Buy it...you'll never know how you lived without it.
Ditto to Fishinhunter.
Buy the longest shaft. You can always adjust it up, but you can't make it longer. Never thought I'd ever use remote. Now it is only thing I use to control boat.
My wife loves the spot lock to keep boat "anchored".
You will never go back to anything else with less technology.
