terrova stuck, hard to deploy and retract
Starting this to benefit any other searches for this problem. I ran a search yesterday and found something but not much.
Anyhow, my Terrova was extremely hard to get out of the stored position while trying to deploy. When retracting to store, I had a lot of resistance when I had about four inches or so to go on the shaft being bottomed into the yoke.
I took the four side panels off, cleaned all the gunk off of all moving parts, pivot points, rollers (loosened the screw to get lube behind them and retightened), forks...everything except under the battery charge indicator. I didn't want to pry around on it too much, but if I could figure out how to get it off without breaking it I would have cleaned and lubed under there too. After cleaning, I wd40'd (some have used Reel Magic or Armorall) all the parts listed above that I had cleaned, pretty much everything that moved or pivoted, including the shaft of the TM. It's good to go now. I am guessing most of it was road grime.
Carry on.
