Is there a way to get my humminbird 768 to pick up depth while running.
You have to play with the angle and depth of the transducer. On their website is a templet that will help get it close. What model transducer is it? Here's a link...

If you are not getting a good reading at speed, it's due to turbulence creating air bubbles below the beam. You will have to move it to get it in clean water....up, down, left, right, tilt in or out. Could be a small movement, could be a large movement....might even have to relocate it.
Worst case, you could "glass it" inside the hull and you should get a good reading.
That will be one boofey please.

It is whatever came with the 768, I am clueless on this crap. Fixxin to move it from one boat to the other. Fishing with WSSM this weekend we noticed the same thing with his so we both have some adjusting to do. Dont mind glassing it in at all, they sell transducers everyday so it wont be a loss to leave it in the hull.
Go to this page and download manual. It has templet in it.
