Fishin in a bowl...........Seems like that would be like fishing some of the strip pits in my area. I look for rock piles, lay downs along bank, weed lines along edges and of course the brush piles when you can find them. It looks like these waters would be similar in size, our pits also have a lot of weeds later in spring and into summer. Great fishing at times, I've always done best at night.
thanks for the reply!
What time of year would make a difference and type of fish
looks like a fun lake to fish
Ol' fashion phone crank.....
Those underwater points with rocks are gonna hold some kind of fish:). Maybe that ledge off the deep hole with rocks to weeds too. Looks like fun to me!
Talk to the resort staff first, and follow whatever boats are out there at first. This lake should be a real pleasure.
There is a lot of structure but it is pretty subtle, beyond the changes in bottom type. I would work the weedline and pay special attention to where weed types change. This should be one lake where the walleyes burrow into the weeds, since it has so little really deep water; so you probably will tangle with a few of them and some pike while fishing crappies along the weedline. Do not overlook the center bar or the sw point. I would also drift the straight ne shoreline at the outside weed line if the wind were right looking for nooks and hooks in the structure that do not show up on the map. Some of those can be honey holes both in prespawn and later in the summer. If there is any shoreline development be sure to check out their docks and swimming platforms, that includes both the resort and the campground ones. Early, late and after dark are most likely the best times.
You don't get much better maps than that, provided it is accurate.
good one
Thank you no1son!
