Anyone have a steelheadjig mold in 1/16 oz.? what is the diameter of the lead ball in this mold? and can you use it with a #8 sickle hook?

Anyone have a steelheadjig mold in 1/16 oz.? what is the diameter of the lead ball in this mold? and can you use it with a #8 sickle hook?
I don't have that mold but the ball head no collar is the same except one use's aberdeen the other O'shanussy style (heavy Wire) If you can get the hook in you should be able to pour it.
The head/diameter of the steelhead molds are the same as the standard jig head with ONE exception. The Mustad 32833 heavy wire hooks have a shorter eye. I'm probably not going to do a good job explaining this, buuuuuuttt... In turn the shank and eye do not meet in the center of the lead head like on a standard mold. The steelhead jig heads have almost no gap between the eye and head. I'll see if/what fits in the mold this evening.Quote:

by the way, I poured 6. every single eye filled w lead. the difference in from a #6 heavy wire to a #8 regular wire was too much.
