22 for kids
Just wanted to pass on to anyone looking for a .22 for a kid/grand kid, that the Henry mini bolt is a fine little rifle. I bought one for my son when he was 6 and two years later and lots of ammo he really has enjoyed it. Perfect size, weight, good sights and safety. When I got him started I used CCI .22 longs that are only 720fps, so not much more power than a decent pellet gun of quality. Sure he has the Daisy bb buck also. HA.
Spent some time yesterday buring ammo with him so it made me think I should pass on a good product.

good for you, teach them young so they will be ready when the time is right,,,, I remember carrying a unloaded gun half a day waiting for the bullett to shoot a rabbit or squirrel.... bet you two had a good time plinking the morning away.....

Great suggestion. My first rifle was a Remington Model 65A pump .22. My Dad gave it to me when I was 7 years old. I still have it and it is one of the most accurate rifles I have ever shot with open sights. Teach that boy how to shoot and instill in him a love and a respect for firearms.
