The Crappiemasters Classic is going to be there this year an I cant find it. It says Between Armory Lock an Dam to Tom Bevill Lock an Dam. All I see around Columbus is Columbus Lake, Crawford Lake, an Aliceville Lake. So were is this Tenn. Tom Bigbee WaterWay?? thanks
Those are the Tom Bigbee.
I can find the amory pool on my map. Wilkins dam to the north and aberdeen dam to the south. I don't see bevill dam.

On your newer maps of the area, it's labeled "Tenn-Tom Waterway", or Tennessee- Tombigbee Waterway.
You might want to go the Army corps of Engineers web site. They have maps, camping parks etc. they also have contact numbers for Rangers. I belive the the Tenn Tom is under the Mobile district. I have heard about Bay Springs Lake being a great crappie spot. I think the web site is WWWUSACE.gov.

the ten-tom starts at pickwick lake on the tennessee river and ends @ the gulf of mexico in Mobile, Al. It is segmented by a lock and dam system that creates pools or lakes which make commerce or barge traffic possible. these locks and dams are controlled by the US army corp of engineers. It is my understanding that the CM tournament is based at the Columbus,MS pool and you can lock up one pool and lock down one pool. There are many sloughs, cuts, old river runs, and oxbows in this river system. The mouths of these places are extemely hazardous as they are constantly changing due to floods and current. There are many, many crappie in this river system. I've caught as many as 100 a day at times. The average is 3/4to1&1/4 lbs with anything over 2 being rare but not non-existant. It's just like any other place, bigger fish seem to group together and it's those bigguns y'all are looking for. I hope this has helped some, be safe and good luck to you all.
LY34- I fish Aliceville Lake the southern most pool of the tournament 12 miles south of Columbus. It's my 2nd home you could say. If you get a chance come down to Nashville Ferry landing and we can show you around a bit. Probably won't give you the secret spots but can give you the lay of the land. Biggest Crappie I saw come out was 2 lbs 13 oz (Confirmed) caught by my fishing buddy and it's still in there somewhere because he turned it loose. Hey there is a national qualifier on Columbus Lake on the Tenn-Tom March 3rd with Crappie Masters as well. This is a good fishery with plenty of crappie just not the size of crappie you will see in the Big 4. This early spring tournament will produce about 10.5 pounds on 7 fish. Traditionally it will take a little better than a 2 pound fish to win big fish. If you like river fishing this will suite you just fine.
