wow, I just tried this knot, REAL STRONG,

for the tube, i use a air pump needle just break off the threaded end,
good fishing

Thanks for the link. They're seem to be two schools of thought on this for the saltwater guys. Some swear by the loop-to-loop system, and others use some variation of the nail knot, like this guy.

I'd be interested in sneakypete's opinions on leader butt/fly line connections.

I'd say there's more then 2 schools of thought on it, lol I swear by things an then alone comes something better.
an open mind helps, lots of fishin folks are set in their ways, and have no interest in changing much, now if your knots work, and your hooking fish, then stay with it,
I liked this knot because its VERY strong, small, an pretty,
tested it a bunch today,

Looks like a really good knot for tying on my leaders for salmon and steelhead. Glad I haven't messed with my new lines yet, still have to decide on how to connect the line leader to my WF/ST line. Likely use loop to loop for the leader but that know looks seriously solid.
