Peak or nor vise

what would yall buy if you had a choice of the peak or nor vise?

I know you'll get a lot of answers on this question eventually, and I've never had my hands on a Nor, but I do know that the comparison is apples and oranges. I tie on a Renzetti traveler and it's similar to the peak, and it's all I'll probably ever need. Been using it for over 2 years and all I've ever done is clean and lube and use it.Different jaws are available for both, and the Nor is a well built machine with lots of options available. Salt water and heavy hooks don't phase the Nor, and I tie up to a 6/0 on mine, I'm sure the peak would do as well. My best advice to you is to handle as many as you can before you buy. I travel in my work and have handled a good many of those available, and most of them do well and have small"personality' differences that you should see for yourself. I can't think of a vise over $100 that was not what I would consider worth tying on. Below that I wasn't real impressed with several, some were downright rough. They would last a while but I didn't care for them. Be patient and ask lots of questions, see if you can handle different members vises if they're close. If you buy right, you'll have it for a very long time.

I've never used either, but if you are willing to look at other options, I'd suggest checking out the Danvise. Works just as good at about half the price of the Peak. Has a lifetime warranty that covers everything except abuse of the jaws. I love tying on mine.
